RULES and INFORMATION

• All premium checks must be cashed within 30 days
• All animals to be shown must be checked in by 9:00am on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 and will be released at 8:30pm. Animals may also be checked in on Friday, August 15th, 2025 from 2:00pm-5:00pm
• Tennessee Exhibitors must have a (90 day) and Out of State Exhibitors must have a (30 day) Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and meet the requirements of the Scrapie Program and the Cocke County Fair.
• Competition is open to anyone
• Online entries ONLY will be accepted. NO mail in entries.
• Registration or transfer certificates, properly executed, must be presented to the show chairman upon arrival.
• Exhibitors are allowed to enter NO more than two (2) animals per lot.
• Exhibitors must comply with Tennessee Department of Agriculture Rules and the Cocke County Fair General Rules.
• If only one entry in a class, exhibitor will receive 2nd place premium money.
• Ribbons will be given for places 1st through 10th.
• Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champions will receive Rosette Ribbons.
• Breed Show will be provided for any breed with ten (10) or more head an three (3) exhibitors. Breeds with less than ten (10) head and three (3) exhibitors will show in All Other Breeds, Class One (1) or at the discretion of the show chairman.
• Late entries will be accepted no later than 1 week past deadline and will not be guaranteed pen space.
• Entry fee: $2.00/head, Late Entry Fee: $3.00/head
• Each exhibitor must purchase a $5.00 livestock pass. Up to four (4) additional passes may be purchased for $5.00 each. One (1) vehicle and trailer only will be admitted and MUST park in designated area.
• Feed and bedding must be furnished by the exhibitor and animals kept in assigned pens.
• Decisions of the Show chairman and Judges will be final
• Supreme Ram and Ewe will be selected from the Breed Show ONLY (classes 1-12) at the conclusion of the show.

Junior Beef Cattle Show

Tuesday, August 12, 2025 @ 6:30pm – Entry deadline: August 1, 2025

Premiums: 1st-$25 , 2nd-$20 , 3rd-$15 , 4th-$13 , 5th-$10

• Premium checks MUST be cashed in 30 days
• Junior show is limited 4-H and FFA members enrolled by January 1 of current year or have no reached the end of the calendar year of their 21st birthday
• All animals entered in the Junior Show must be registered in the name of the junior exhibitor, or transferred to the exhibitor by August 1, 2025.
• Registration papers or transfer certificates must be presented to the chairperson of the show upon arrival to the grounds.
• All animals exhibited must be accompanied by valid health certificate and meet the health requirements of the Fair and State Rules
• Heifers and bulls shown in Other Breeds must be registered in the Herd Registry for their breed.
• Entry fee of $5.00 per tie space.
• If only one entry in a class, exhibitor will receive 2nd place money
• Exhibitor and Spectator’s Pass will be required for $5.00 per person
• Two (2) animals per exhibitor per lot may be entered
• Breed show will be provided for any breed with ten (10) or more head. Breeds with less than ten (1) head will show in Class 4. To have a breed show, there must have been ten (1) or more head for the past three years, and then that breed will be granted it’s own show on the fourth year.

Litte Cow Buddies Rules:

• Children 2-8 years of Age, NOT a 4-H member
• Calves do not need to be registered, but must be purebred beef animal
• Animal does not have to be owned by the exhibitor
• Entries receive a trophy

Open Beef Cattle Show

• A Supreme Champion (female and male) will be selected from all the respected breed champion
• Jackpot Adult Showmanship and Jackpot Showmanship will be at the conclusion of show, prior to Supreme Champion Drive Open to any adult not eligible to compete in Junior Beef Show Exhibitor do not have to own animal shown

Junior Poultry Show

Saturday, August 16th, 2025 @ 10am

• Entries MUST be tested for pullorum-typhoid before entering the barn and present a pullorum test certificate.
• Birds will be tested FREE OF CHARGE on August 9th, 2025 from 8:00am – 10:30am.
• Feeding and Watering of ALL poultry will be done by Fair Barn staff.
• The individual exhibiting must own all entries.
• No one will be allowed in the aisle during the judging other than the clerk and/or show officials. No one will interfere with the judges or the birds during judging under penalty of and forfeiture of prizes.
• Local birds only
• NO SICK BIRDS will be allowed in the show bar, and owner will be asked to immediately remove them from the fairgrounds.

• No prepared pie crust on any type of mixes are to be used (exprect class 8 Lot 1 and 2)
• Judging will be on appearance, textured, color and flavor.
• Only one (1) entery per lot per exhibition may be entered and person submitting entry must be the baker.

• This is an amateur contest
• No entry shall be involved in any way with commercial wines
• Each entry must be in a glass container, containing no less than 1/2 pint and no more than 1 quart
• Each entry needs name of wine and date made

Honey

Class 3 – Beeswax

• Extracted honey is to be exhibited in a classic or queen like one pound glass jar (unlabeled)
• Comb honey is to be exhibited in a wide mouth pint canning jar (unlabeled)
• Frames of honey must be in a sanitary (leak proof), bee-proof container.
• Honey with a moisture content greater than 18.6% will be disqualified.
• Candles made of beeswax should be a minimum length of 2 inches.
• Other beeswax must have been produced and packed by the exhibitor during the current fair year.
• An observation hive must have standard frames, a marked queen, and must be well ventilated.
• Judging will be according to the official scorecard.
• Premium checks MUST be cashed within 30 days
• Items must be picked up on Sunday, August 17, 2025 after 1:00pm.
